Visited Hokkaido, Indiranagar for a lunch date with my husband. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere — clean, well maintained, and comfortable for a relaxed meal. We tried a few dishes: • Tempura: Good portion size and nicely served, overall 3/5. • Chicken Breast Dish: Unfortunately, the quality was not up to expectations and felt disappointing, 3/5. • Noodles: Nice taste and enjoyable, also 3/5. Tucked away in the vibrant lanes of Indiranagar, Hokkaido Japanese & Korean Restaurant is one of those rare places that doesn’t just serve Japanese food—it makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a quiet Tokyo neighborhood café. What We Ordered (and Loved) Chicken Katsu Curry Rice Comfort food at its finest. The chicken katsu was perfectly crisp on the outside, juicy on the inside, and paired beautifully with a rich, mildly spiced Japanese curry. The curry wasn’t overpowering—smooth, slightly sweet, and deeply flavorful—allowing the dish to feel indulgent yet balanced. The portion size was generous and extremely satisfying. Avocado Maki Simple, clean, and fresh—exactly how maki should be. The rice was well-seasoned, the avocado creamy and ripe, and the rolls held together perfectly. This dish really highlighted the restaurant’s focus on ingredient quality and restraint, something that’s very true to Japanese cuisine. Yasai Tempura Roll A delightful surprise. Light, airy tempura vegetables wrapped into a roll that had great crunch without feeling greasy.
